Well this is awkward, I've actually forgotten to post. I finally got holidays now. Lots of different sounds have gotten through my speakers. The tune called Shamrock was a positive surprise for me, since I must admit that I like folk music and that tune combined dubstep and folk(plus going over genre "boundaries" like that is far from my favorite). For example, metal + basically anything. I got nothing against people trying new stuff, that's what music's all about but some times, just, no.

I was gonna write a review about the new Skream and Benga EP, but that's gonna be for the weekend. Got some lovely eyes down dubstep and a slow drum and bass tune(gotta love the people who say it was dubstep).
This one is for my mum:
And this one is for the Skyrim heads:

Dubstep season is starting for me. Last couple of days it's been Burial and Horsepower Productions. Eyes down, cold, orange street lights, trees, darkness and now snow. Snow is the only thing I dislike with winter, I got nothing against coldness though.

10 internet points for the one who have used this track and sampled it. I was a bit surprised when I heard it for the first time since I didn't know the artist liked this kinda stuff. This other tune is a classic one for me. Had it on my ipod for ages.

Am I the only one who is scared that it's gonna be some really bad made brostep remix every time I see the word remix on youtube nowadays? Well, this song pleasantly surprised me! It's a bit interesting how I found Bonobo. I'm a huge fan of both Japan and London(thinking about traveling to London some time soon) and I was watching a video about Japanese tattooing(which I also have been thinking about, sometime in the future) and this song was playing in the background.
Also, exams over so expect more posts. Not doing a fucking thing today(except for going to the gym).

Stress. I haven't slept properly for weeks and now I got exams.
The Chinese one starts at at ~1.45 and please watch the whole Korean one. Also, please try to listen to Drake tune. I dislike Drake nowadays, but he has had some pretty good tracks back in the day! So many tunes, so little time. P.S Looking into the keys when playing piano = sign of a genius playing.

I have written a paper on modernism(the music). There are some complete mindfuck tunes(but Cage got some good track), I kid you not even though they are the fathers of electronic music. Some times you gotta listen to some music you usually wouldn't listen to.
And here's a little something for my mother(whom dislikes folk music but I some how like):

I might write a list on my favorite albums of all times, all genres.

Got bare memories with Jeru the Damaja. It should be like a year ago or so since I featured this one. I used to listen to this when I went to the bus in the mornings, but funnily enough I don't have much memories(music wise) from when I was walking home. First thing that pops into my mind is the graveyard which I used to run through, snow, my bus and a really nice oldschool tag that said "ICE". Jeru the Damaja and Jedi Mind Tricks both bring me me on that nostalgic trick.
P.S Larging up my man from the UK. Nice to see some new chill hip hop produced.
P.S.S I really need to feature some more dubstep.
Monday, 7 November 2011
K-Dub Shine is a boss. Seriously. Lots of other good tracks but this one is special. Along with Latin and Arabian, I want to learn Japanese too. I remember when I was a hardcore 100% metalhead and never thought I'll ever listen to electronical music and rap. Now I sit with 10 tabs open on my browser with only rap. I can still listen to good metal but I was really angry at the scene because of its close-mindedness. With internet and such nowadays, I don't understand why you would only try to listen to one genre.
P.S Fuck that K-Koke tune is DEEP.
P.S.S I promise I'm gonna try to get some dubstep to my blog, if any one want to hear any.
Saturday, 5 November 2011
Business time. I can still remember the first time I heard this tune. I have this thing that every time I listen to a track I imagine stuff, like I paint in my head. When I hear this tune I can see the East London, people in a dark room at Rinse bopping their head to this banger. This track is dark, and I like it. I've listened to all sorts of black metal, death metal, hip hop with nasty lyrics but this track is still the most evil tune I've ever heard.
This second tune is a bit different but still Skream. It's dark, heavy rhythm and percussion.
Larging up Skream.
Now I'm off to dance practice. Yeah, I dance, come at me bro.
Wednesday, 2 November 2011
Such an unrated hip-hop group. 7L & E is up there with the legends in my opinion.
A bit of a specialty for me. I actually heard this thanks to school. We had a "bring your favorite tune" type of thing on a class and a guy brought this one.

Perverse - Tepidus (free download) by Perverse
Heavy. Bit different from the other dungeon sound, which sadly is getting a bit boring and repetitive now. I mean, I still feel this one(big as fuck). But overall, I don't like the "dungeon sound" too much. My main reason is, that it's too non-personal, any one can do it. It sounds like I'm describing the brostep scene. Maybe my knowledge of the dungeon sound-makers are so little that I recognise their sound, but if I put on a Skream or what ever track I can right away hear it.
My emotions are a bit mixed towards the dubstep scene at the moment. There are no tracks "designed" for listening on the go or listening 1pm alone. All tracks are made for a huge flow and you gotta be zoned out to listen to it. You got to have a big system to fully enjoy it. What I'm trying to say is that there is no "lighter" dubstep made anymore. Okay, there is always Burial but I mean, does dubstep have to be so sad all the time?
Some might think now that "well why are you listening to dubstep then, you asshat", well, I like it. No talk about it. It incorporates some of my favorite stuff from all genres. It's heavy, bass-y, emotional and with out vocals. I used to be a huge anti-"non vocal" when I was listening to metal but now I simply don't care. Except when it's about Burials vocal samples, then I'm a little fanboy.
Tuesday, 25 October 2011
It's kind of weird, since I don't really like this tune. It's messy(as he have said himself) and not properly put together yet I have listened to it every night since it came out. It got that sense of energy that his every tune has. And those vocal samples, god damn!
Burial is a interesting man, is he not? I mean, I can only find one picture of him. One. He never plays gigs or shows up any where. Yet he is a legend. Some times I dream of actually meeting the man behind all this simple yet wonderful music, and ask him some questions. What does actually happen in his mind? Does he actually know that so many people really appreciate his music?
When I showed Burial to my dad he said that this is the kind of music that you "just sit in a dark room at night with your headphones and just listen"-music. Just like he did with Pink Floyd, I do with Burial. Brilliant fucking artist.

26 Basslines is so much nostalgia to me. It's not an old track but it was one of my first favorite dubstep tunes. So much energy and those drums. Benga is truly one underrated artist. Also, it's finally stopped raining and it's sunny now. Yesterday when there was thunder in the air, this classic piece of music was cranked from my speakers.

[PL014] _ VESICLE - We Are Lost EP - Vinyl coming June 13th 2011! by ParadiseLostRecordings
New EP coming out from the Finnish duo. Release date: 13th June. The EP(and their other stuff) is wonderfully dark, isn't it? I've heard the "We are lost" track before, but the 3 others were completely new tunes for me. I think, so far, that "Mythos" is my favorite track. Not to keen on the "Redemption" tune, but hey, everyone has different taste. I do also like how they incorporate some newer stuff while still staying true to their "roots", which so many people seem to fail with. If you go on and on doing the same thing, it will get boring. I don't like to see wobbles and "filthier than your grandmas toilet", I really don't, but it's good when you can try out some other/new stuff. Plus, wobbles aren't exactly new in the dubstep(nor electronic) scene. Wait what?
Good stuff, no bad tracks in my opinion. 9/10.

Big tune V.I.V.E.K and not Distance, V.I.V.E.K confirmed this himself. Second tune is dedicated to one of my new friends who sadly(yet it's good for him) is moving away, far far away. He is half-Thai, which is I why I chose this track. Awesome beat, would love this hear the track in better quality though.

There are sooooo many forgotten tunes and artist from the 1999-2002 area. This was the time when dubstep was born. It sounded a lot like UKG yet it didn't. Horsepower Productions are one of my favorite artists. In a way they're like Loefah. Loefah doesn't get much praise, yet he is one of the biggest artists in the game. Everyone knows that he is a awesome artist but so few actually say it.

So, it's starting to be summer. I've noticed how I'm slightly turning away from dubstep when the summer is coming. I don't find it bad but I've started liking hip-hop and garage a lot more thanks to the summer. Do any one remember Prime? He was the first artist I interviewed on this blog.

MJ Cole is the shit. Some awesome UKG(which is far from my favorite genre). I don't really dislike the UKG, I just have never gotten into it. Lots of people are saying it's gonna do a comeback, would be fun since I didn't know much when UKG was popular. But no dubstep today, but here, have some old school Photek.

Tuesday, 24 May 2011
Since I'm visiting my mum, I decided to throw in a tune by one of her favorite artist, namely Burial. Gutted is by far my favorite tune of his, loving the vocal sample in the beginning too. Then Photek, man this track is so simple yet effective. One of my favorite drum and bass tunes, ever.
Oh, two old tracks today, but sometimes you gotta listen to some classics!
Monday, 23 May 2011
Some awesome chill music from a Finnish artist! I've been listening to this tune a coupla days now. Liking the video too! I think that I've posted some Mogwai or Explosions in the Sky before but man, it's some awesome music. Check them out if you want some really calm, dreamy yet epic music.

Katacombs is big tune, I love the pirate-y feeling of it. Also, those who follow ice hockey should know that Finland won 6-1 to our "arch enemy" Sweden. Lots of celebrating in Helsinki today, not so much that we won Sweden more like we won after 16 years of losing. This isn't really about dubstep is it now?
Sunday, 15 May 2011
I found this remix yesterday, and I quite like it. I'm not into the wobbles but I like that he made it "his own"(which I hardly see in remixes nowadays, especially without ruining the song).
I also started making my own tunes yesterday. I will not post any of my own tunes on my blog since my blog isn't made for posting my own tunes, but if you want, you can follow me on soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/axeaman. I know the first track is bad, but hey, it's my first tune I made on a computer.
Saturday, 14 May 2011
Blogspot wasn't working yesterday, which is why I didn't post yesterday. Well, my school ended yesterday so I was at a party which involved loud music, cars, police and me drunk for the first time in 2 years. I've heard that UKG(UK garage) is making a an "uprise" again, which is cool for me since some how dubstep isn't as good in the summer/spring as in the winter/autumn.

I've noticed that there's a lot of dubstep artists who are trying to do that Kryptic Minds kind of tunes(which are in my opinion big tunes, that simply roll forward with weight. If that makes sense). Nothing wrong with that, I love Kryptic Minds but I would love to see some more lighter stuff. Think Burial and Phaeleh etc. Also, those who are on dubstepforum should recognise Pistonsbeneaths name! Lets see what happens in summer 2011!
Sunday, 8 May 2011
Some new material from Skream and Hijak. For those who didn't know it, Hijak is actually Skreams older brother. They don't look very alike but they are. Would be fun to do music with my brother too. I was glad when I saw that Mic Righteous have made an video to his freestyle called "Honour and Pride". Great tune and video.

Great tune from Icicle, loving the sample. "Arrows" released on Icicles newest album called "Under the ice", which I should buy since I've only heard the previews so far. Next tune is from a guy who approached me on the dubstepforums. It's a pretty okay track coming from a beginner! It sounds dark and nice.

Glass by Ampa
Glass is a tune that I've been listening to a lot and I thought that "I'm gonna put this one on the blog" but some how I've forgotten about it. "Stolen shadow" is actually a Deep Medi tune that I haven't seen before. It's really garage-y and a little bit dreamy, good for the summer!

Long time no see. I have missed waking up and just write about two tunes, it might seem like a minor thing but you know, it's the same procedure every "schoolday". I've listened through some of the older tracks on my harddrives, I almost got nostalgic(even with my young age). In my opinion the moving went pretty good, 8 hours of lifting. Needless to say, I couldn't go to the gym that evening haha.
Oh, I almost forgot writing about the tunes. So, the hip hop tune is made by the Japanese trio called Kick the Can Crew. Really nice tune, but I haven't listened to their other tracks. Time spike jamz is weird tune, but it's a fresh breeze into the dubstep scene. Sounds a lot like James Blake, with some Burial and Aphex Twin(weirdly enough) mixed in there!

So, I'm gonna have a blogging break till the 26th/27th of April. I'm currently moving house and I am going to be without internet. If you want to ask something, you can hit me up at firstname.lastname@example.org since I can check my email in school but I don't have enough time in school to write any blog posts! Oh, if you think the Mic Righteous freestyle is boring, wait until 2.57!
See you at 27th of April!

Today is my birthday, I'm gonna be 17 years old. Gonna take it chill today. Presents so far is a computer game from my brother, some cash from my mother and I'm gonna get a MIDI-keyboard from my dad(so expect to see some of my own work here soon). Also, have I had the Hyetal tune on here before? I thought so, but I can't find it, anyways, an awesome track from a underrated artists!
Tuesday, 12 April 2011
Okay, late post today. I know my mum have been talking about The XX, so I'm gonna put a track from them here. Not that "deep", but good nonetheless. Then a tune by Roska, not dubstep-y but a lot more funky(which is a genre I've not ventured into). I always thought Roska was a Finn, since he says the watertag like a Finn and Roska means trash on Finnish!
Monday, 11 April 2011
Sunday, 10 April 2011
No dubstep today. I found this Smote tune thanks to Whyrez, since he posted it on his facebook. That's pretty much how I felt when I came home from my 26km long bicycling trip yesterday. Next track is one of my favorite tracks, ever. As some of you might know, I come from more or less 100% metal background. So, if you dislike metal, please skip this tune and listen to the one under it. Summer dreams by Skream, I mean, does it become more summer-y then that?
Saturday, 9 April 2011
Great, I woke up at 7.44 Finnish time because of the sun is so bright. Ah, can't wait for the summer so, it's all good. So, I've noticed with myself that I've started enjoying a lot of old school music. Not just dubstep, but hip-hop and other electronic music. This Hatcha tunes brings the chills down my spine, really good tune. Same with this Beastie boys remix, sad that the quality is bad!
Friday, 8 April 2011
Old school something? To be honest I don't know what genre Liquid is, but I don't care since it's good. It reminds me one of other tune but I just can't figure what it's called. Next tune, I don't have any clue who Ampa is, I just know that he's from the UK. Great track.
Wednesday, 6 April 2011
Okay, I've fallen in love with jungle. I mean, how can you not love the energy in that DJ Rap tune? Yesterday was one of them days when I found a lot of new tunes, including this Burial track. Is it only me or does it actually fit when Kode9 speaks over the track? For example, I can't listen to the original "Stolen Dog", I want to listen to the one when he speaks over the tune.
Tuesday, 5 April 2011
Really awesome chilled out track by Plastician. That man needs to get more people to listen to his music instead of his mixes. After that one we got a jungle track by DJ Rap, doesn't it make you wanna dance? Sad that there is so many genres that have disappeared, including UK Garage and jungle.

Jens Madsen - Elektric by JensMadsen
New tune from my Danish friend. It got the power of a train, and it won't stop for nothing. As some of you might know that I'm not a huge fan of the distorted dubstep but when it has the power and bass like this. Next is a old-school garage remix from El-B. Loving the vocals on that one.
Saturday, 2 April 2011
A new tune by Jelacee. Loving the samples on this one! Also, my mum wanted me to put something by James Blake here too, and she likes his track called "The Wilhem Scream". Some great diversity from this guy. He's getting a lot of attention this winter. I don't think he is revolutionizing the whole genre, but he is definitely putting out some fresh breezes.

Not dubstep at all, but great nonetheless. V.I.V.E.K have received a lot of great response after his and Goth Trad's performance after the DMZ 6th birthday, some have said that they even played the best gig there. I was actually a little bit skeptical to his tunes, but once I started to listen to them, they were awesome.

A rip from the Youngsta show in 29 April 2010. Great tune from Kryptic Minds. Sadly, it's unreleased. Also, Seizure sent me this yesterday. Pretty interesting tune, though I haven't heard the original. Here's also an download link from him: http://www.zshare.net/audio/8823761715546ea5/
Monday, 28 March 2011
What a weekend. Today I got one Mala VIP and one remix by Widowmaker. Definitely liking the remix. "Wobble the gut" is one of my favorite Skream tunes because of that reverb-y lovelyness. I also got an extra video today. It's not dubstep or anything like that, but it's pretty fun. The good stuff begins at 1.00
Sunday, 27 March 2011
Saturday, 26 March 2011
Yes, I have had this one on the blog before, but that drop is awesome. I have also started to listen A LOT more to hip hop and rap, especially old school(think Wu Tang Clan and NWA) but I do also love British rap. Here's a new tune by Mic Righteous. Even if you don't like hip hop, I suggest you would check out those lyrics.
Friday, 25 March 2011
New Burial, coming out 28th March 2011. Tracklist: "Stolen Dog", "Street Halo" and "NYC". However, as Kode9 said in the radio show, they will not play NYC. I like "Stolen Dog" a lot more, Street Halo isn't bad but. The thing I like about this EP is that it's not necessarily Burial, he's really trying out new and fresh stuff! There is also rumours about a new Burial album, can't wait to hear that.
Thursday, 24 March 2011
Today I got two remixes of "Midnight Request Line". First a VIP (varied idea by producer) by Skream. Yes, it's a radio rip but the VIP itself haven't been released. The other one is a remix by Digital Mystikz. Both of the tunes still got that evil sounding stuff to it that the original has.

Wow, the time goes fast. It's soon summer! Also, my dad did actually check out my blog yesterday, and he kinda liked it! Today I got the vocal version of "Afterglow" by Phaeleh, and "The Knowledge" by Toasty, which is a very drum and bass influenced tune that was released in 2004!

I got two really chilled tunes today(as usual on Saturdays, haha). Also, I got new "rule" for my blog. I will sometimes post non-dubstep tunes(for example Aphex Twin but also other) to mix it up a bit, but dubstep is still my main priority.

Jens Madsen - The Journey by JensMadsen
Some chilled dubstep from Denmark. He contacted me on dubstepforum.com(check out the thread about my blog there). Next tune is from a real life friend of mine. Some massive bass on this one. Well done Coppy. Can't wait to hear more tunes from these two up and coming producers!

TripTonite - Gundam Robots (Original Mix) 320 D/L by TripToniteMix
I have been listening to this one a lot the latest days. Didn't expect anything like this. Really good bass on this one. He also has a pretty interesting remix, which is okay. Can't wait to hear some new tunes from him!

Great track from the 5: Five years of Hyperdub. Also, if you haven't checked out the recordings in the Boiler Room, check them OUT. Lots of great stuff there, and since it's DMZ 6th birthday today Mala, Loefah and Coki will be playing recording some time tonight in 16 hours(2am for us Finns). Here some DMZ live.

As I said before, sorry for the late post. I bought 70 tracks off iTunes yesterday, and I was especially looking forward to hear the "new" Horsepower Productions(it was released 25th of November 2010). There was some greats tunes on that one. These are two of my favorites at the moment.

I have heard lots about Breakage, but I haven't really liked the songs before. But yesterday I went on a hunt to find some more good tracks by him and I found these. I'm liking the idea of a female singer on the track called "Justified". Loving the synths on "Morning Star" and the D'n'B drums.

New Skream that's being mastered this week, but I haven't found any release dates. He got some real bangers on this one. The tracklist is in the same order as the videos is now. Some short words about the tunes in my opinion(But I still have to hear the full tunes so):
Seasick, it's okay, but I don't like it that much.
Heavy hitter, oh my. Massive. Instant headnodder. I would love to see the crowds reaction to this one. See, it can be big and "filthy" without being robotic and without bass. Feeling this a lot.
Riggin(there's a spelling error in the video), I have heard this one before and I've had it on the blog too. Instat headnodder once again. Feeling this one too.
Hats off, a drum and bass influenced tune. Skream have started to make a lot of those, but the problem is that they all sound very alike. It's okay, pretty summer-y if you ask me(which is always a plus for me).
Overall, can't wait to hear the full tunes. It's still Skream: simple and effective, and that's what's good about him.
