Special Saturday 31th July

Hey everyone. So, todays "theme" is songs/bands people have asked or recommended me to put on the blog.

First up is one of my Swedish friends request. He wanted Sigur Rós, so some Sigur Rós it is. They have lots of good, calm songs. Check out their other stuff too, really nice stuff!

Next request is Pendulum. The person in question wanted the song Self vs Self, ft In Flames! I took that and added another song from the newest album Immersion.

Huoratron is some weird Finnish techno-like stuff. But I like it! It might be weird but, it's good! It makes you move and smile.

Last but not least. There was this girl, who asked for The Beatles or The Ramones. But I couldn't decide which one to take from those two, so I took both!

Enjoy, because I sure did!

Special Saturday 24th July

Hey, you might have noticed that I haven't had any electronic music(dubstep and drum'n'bass) for a couple of days that's because it's Special Saturdays theme! 1 hour of dubstep and drum'n'bass, chosen by me. It's gonna be epic and awesome, all at the same time. Enjoy!

I'd suggest that you would listen to them in this order, but it's optional.

Took a while, but it was worth it!

Friday 23rd July

I have to use another The Clash song, just because they're so awesome. The song is called Rock The Casbah. A nice summer-y song. Enjoy!

Next is actually a cover, Holy Diver by Killswitch Engage. The original, is of course made by Dio. Not a huge fan of covers but this one is great, with a nice Killswitch Engage touch!

Last but not least is San Fransisco by Scott McKenzie. Old classic, and it's still good.

Enjoy, see you tomorrow!

Thursday 22nd July

This time it was a bit easier to find some songs.

I'll start with the British rapper Professor Green, nice real rap. The song is called Upper Clapton Dance. The first thing I noticed about this song is was the orchestra. It gives the song a nice touch!

Next up is a progressive metal band called Tool. Lots of great songs to chose from but I chose The Pot, simply because it can be easier for people who aren't familiar with progressive metal!

Next one is a really epic one. The Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone. Awesome song from a awesome movie!

Monday 19th July

Good morning, back to work today!

I'll start with a song that I actually thought that I would put in yesterday, but it's here now. Anthrax, not my favorite band at all but this song is so good. Safe Home. Great song, and a great performance!

Then some dubstep by Delerium, and this is my favorite remix. Not much to say, kinda simple song but it's very good! Nice singing too!

And now it's time for some good old rap, by A Tribe Called Quest. The song is called Check The Rhime. Not really a calm song, but it's summer-y and nice!

Enjoy and see you tomorrow!

Sunday 18th July

Good morning to all of you!

Next up is Testament, one of the old/true trash metal bands. Alone in the Dark, and I've chosen the live version because I liked this one more. Gotta love the vocals!

Last we have Nightwish, one of my favorite bands. They have loads of good songs but I've chosen High Hopes, because as this is the last song it has to be calm. High Hopes does that good.

I hope you enjoyed, see you tomorrow!

Special Saturday

Hey, todays theme is CLASSICAL. I suggest that everyone at least tries to listen, because I've chosen some epic songs!

First a part from Holsts, The Planets. My favorite. I don't know why I actually like this song, but the from the middle to the end it's awesome.

Then we have a quite funny one actually, Rossinis William Tell. I don't know if it's made to be funny, but I think it is!

Last, we have Finlandia by Sibelius. Awesome 8 minutes.

Friday 16th July

Good day!

I'll start with a 10 minute long song, Strobe by DeadMau5. It's long, epic and beautiful all in the same package. Amazing, really well done!

Thursday 15th July

Hello everyone!

First we have a band my friend recommended, Approaching Nirvana. But I didn't take the song he wanted me to take, because I like this one more. Very interesting band, sadly they aren't so big. Check them out!

Then we have a band called Hot Chocolate, with a song called You Sexy Thing. It just screams classic. The video is also very nice. Put the volume up high and sing along!

Next is also a classic, but this song is a remix. We No Speak Americano. I sat with a big smile thru the whole song! Also the video is nicely done and edited!

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a good old rock'n'roll band, and Free Bird is a great song. Nice lyrics, and that solo in the end. WOW. Not much to say, except for listen to the whole song!

Enjoy, and see you tomorrow!

Wednesday, 14th July

Good morning all of you!

Solution .45, is a totally new band for me. For people who like Scar Symmetry, this is gonna be nice for you. The Close Beyond, is a nice mix of both clean vocals and growling! It's some really nice stuff, check it out!

Then we have a dubstep song, one of my favorites. A song called Cockney Thug, a remix by Caspa. It's insane, yet awesome.

Last but not least, a band from Iceland called Sigur Rós. A LOT of good songs, but I've chosen my favorite Ágætis Byrjun. They sing in Icelandic, so that's why you can't hear what he is singing. Check out their other songs too!

Tuesday, 13 July 2010

Hey everyone!

I'll start with the Youtube sensation, Ronald Jenkees. The song I chose, was the first that I've heard from him. Throwing fire. Not much to say, simple and nice.

Next up we have a Finnish power-metal band, called Sonata Arctica. The song is called My land. This has to be one of my favorite songs by them. The intro is really nice, also a very simple yet good chorus!

Last we have Red Hot Chili Peppers, with the song By The Way. Nice, summer-y song.

Monday, 12 July 2010

Hey everyone, I'm sorry I'm posting a bit later than usual but I've been at work so :)

First we have some great Finnish metal, by Ensiferum. From Afar is a good, fast song. Ensiferum doesn't usually have orchestras in their music but in this one they have it, and it fits very good! Check them out!

Then we have another dubstep remix, by Doorly's Cockney Wideboy. The track is called London Town. Great dubstep, check it out!

Last we have a post-rock band called Russian Circles! They have a lot of calm songs, but this is my favorite! Good when you're trying to sleep!

Sunday, 11 July 2010

Good morning everyone! Let's have some fun today

Alestorm, is a Scottish folk-metal band. They sing about pirates and stuff. This song made me laugh. The intro is fun, the chorus is awesome and the video is so badly done it's good! It just makes your body move and your face turn into one big smiley.

I've also found a good and not-so-known hardcore-type of band, Unexpected Allies. Interesting stuff, they mixing a couple of genres. I wasn't expecting this. Sadly, the only have one song on myspace! Check them out!

Next up, I have a new favorite artists Mt Eden. He has A LOT of good songs, but I've chosen a bit special song. Faded. That man in the beginning is so good. The song just brings a smile to my face.

And so, the last song. House of Cards by Radiohead. Not much to say. Lovely song. Enjoy.

That's it for today folks! See you tomorrow!

Saturday, 10 July 2010

Good morning!

Good morning everyone, I'm sitting here with my coffee. I'd thought I'd make a "special post" today. Just relaxing and beautiful songs. I've tried to keep the posts short, so you can make your own view at the songs!

I will start with a Scottish, post-rock/space-rock band called Mogwai. They have a lot of good songs but I've chosen Auto Rock. Awesome.

Next is a dubstep artist from New Zealand, Mt Eden Dubstep. The song is called Escape, the choirs is just heaven.

Then we have a Japanese post-rock band, called Mono. Follow the map is almost hauntingly good. Wow, just wow.

Last we have the legendary Pink Floyd. A masterpiece, Echoes.

I hope you enjoyed it, because I sure did!

Some more music

Good morning, it's Friday!

First up we have a Swedish metal band, and their lyrics are influenced by WW2. I didn't know which song to put here, The Final Solution or White Death, so I have both! The vocalist have a interesting voice, but a good one! Not a huge fan of Sabaton, but these songs are good!

I think I'll put in some more Pendulum, just because they're a very good band! I've chosen a older song, but great nonetheless! Bloodsugar, it just has to be one of my favorite Pendulum songs. Just awesome.

We need some more punk-rock, and not that new stuff. We need the real punk-rock, and that's The Clash. Rock the Casbah, is a good song with a nice chorus! Just sing a long, it's summer!

Now, lets cool down a bit. Here I have a legendary band, Led Zeppelin. Since I've Been Loving You. Please bear with me the first 10 seconds, but after that it's pure heaven. Great song by a great band!

Enjoy the music and this lovely Friday!

Thursday, 8 July 2010

No sun, no fun

Good morning! I had a real trouble to find any songs that I could use today, the ones that I tried to use wasn't really good today. Not sure why thou, but I at least I got some now!

I will start with the legendary DJ from the Netherlands, Tiesto. This man has a lot of great songs but I've chosen one, Elements of life. What I like about this guy is that he actually goes out and plays the music. Put the volume up high and enjoy.

Then we have some viking metal, and I know that it's not everyones favorite but listen to the intro to this song! First time I heard the song, I got goosebumps all over my body. Great music from the Faroese band Týr, check them out!

Last, but not least we have a another legendary man. Tupac. I've chosen Ghetto Gospel, and when the intro starts, just wow. Beatiful song, with a meaning. Rest in peace Tupac, one of the true rappers.

That's it for today. Enjoy.

P.S If you have a song you want me to put up here, post a comment!

Wednesday, 7 July 2010

Ah, sometimes it's heaven to be away from work, hehe

I'm gonna start with saying, that I'm not very interested in hardstyle but these guys nailed it. SHOWTEK from the Netherlands. I've heard one song, Electronic Stereo Phonic. Pure and simple hardstyle. Not much to say really, check it out!

Then we have the American indie-rock band The Drums. This song is dedicated, to a special friend of mine. Enjoy! Otherwise, the song is pretty nice and the video is weird and still funny! Gotta love the whistling too. Good stuff, and especially if you need to get in a happy mood!

Next up is a Swedish indie-rock band The Shout Out Louds. The song is called Normandie, and thanks to one of my new best friend(You know who you are) it's one of my new favorite songs. Swedes can actually do both metal and indie-rock. The reason why I don't have it as last song(the chill songs) is because I have another one there.

Now, it's time for the chill/calm/relaxing song and this time I have another pure classic. Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry. There is not much to say, just enjoy this masterpiece and sing along if you can!

That's all for me today, have fun!

Tuesday, 6 July 2010

Good morning

Good morning everyone!

I'll start with the Australian drum-and-bass band Pendulum. They released a new single a couple of weeks ago, the song is called Vulture. Quality, as usual. The cool thing about this band is that they actually play live with actual instruments! Great stuff, check them out!

Next up is the American pop-rock band The Gaslight Anthem. To be honest, I've heard about them before but I've never actually listened to a song of theirs. Great Expectations is a good piece of music. Great chorus and Brian Fallon has a good voice. Also, a cool video!

So, last evening when I was walking home from work I needed some music. So I put on some Explosions in the Sky. They're a good post-rock band from Texas, America! The songs that I put on were Your hand in mine and So long, lonesome. Imagine those two songs playing after a long day of work. The sun is going down. Perfect.

That's all for me! Enjoy!

Monday, 5 July 2010

New day, new songs

Good morning everyone, it's 9.53 AM here in Finland and I got some songs for you!

I'll start with a totally new band for me, and that is Anberlin from Florida, USA! The song is called We Owe This To Ourselves, and they released it only a few days ago! It's a good energetic song, and fairly easy to remember and sing along! The intro is also good done, it "pumps" you up for the song! Good video!

Next up is Muse! Personally, I don't like all of their music, but they got some pretty good stuff! This one in particular is from the newest album, The Resistance, and the song with the same name. The vocals in the song are very good done, same with the intro! Sweet stuff, check them out!

Then we have a American metal band called God Forbid. They are highly underrated metal band! The band has a lot of good stuff, but I have chosen War Of Attrition from the newest album Earthblood! Makes you headbang directly from the beginning! Great energetic riffs and vocals.

I think I'm gonna finish every post with a song, that hopefully is a bit relaxing. This time I have the British post-punk Joy Division. A very good band, with great songs. Sadly the vocalist, Ian Curtis, took his life after the third album. They have a lot of good stuff, but I've chosen the classic Love will tear us apart. Great stuff!

I hope you enjoyed it!

First post/songs

Hey everyone! This will be my first set of songs!

First song will be a song from the Australian hip-hop trio Hilltop Hoods, a song called The Blue Blooded. I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop but this song is a killer. Makes you move and it's easy to remember! The band has a lot of good songs, check them out! They are going to go far!

The next song is from a old Finnish pop-rock band, Paul Oxley's Unit. The song is called The Judge And The Jury. It's a very summery song, with a nice reggae touch. Just sit down, smile and relax. Their music might be hard to find but there should be more music on Youtube! The only bad thing about this song is that it's short. Might not be everyones cup of tea, but I like them.

As the third song, I have put a metalcore-ish song. It's from a band that's called Shadows Fall and they're from USA. I found this band some days ago, and so far I like what I'm hearing! The song Those Who Cannot Speak is about the singer Brian Fairs autistic niece and nephew! Good guitar harmonies and stuff! Check them out!

Last but not least, is band called Rome that come from Luxembourg. This little band creates big atmospheres and enviroments, less is more right? I have to say that the vocals are very good. They got a lot of good songs, but I had to choose L'adieu aux anciens. It might be a bit depressing song, but it's wonderful. The piano and his voice mix very good.

So, that's all for me. Thanks!
